[Correspondence] Anti-inflammatory therapies in myocardial infarction

Losmapimod blunted the acute inflammatory response in patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) in L Kristin Newby and colleagues’ study (Sept 27, p 1187).1 Despite only small effects on infarct size, losmapimod reduced dyspnoea and brain natriuretic peptide levels and significantly improved left ventricular ejection fraction compared with placebo.1
