[Correspondence] Epilepsy in women during pregnancy

Luz Viale and colleagues’ systematic review and meta-analysis (Nov 7, p 1845)1 of pregnancy and reproductive outcomes in women with epilepsy shows that outcomes are poorer in women receiving antiepileptic drugs than for those with epilepsy not receiving treatment. Furthermore, women requiring polytherapy had poorer outcomes than those given monotherapy.
