Changes reflect new era for Medical Journal of Australia
The latest issue of the Medical Journal of Australia introduces some new changes that have been in the works for the last few months.
The print Journal will now have all its articles summarised in one page, with the full research available to be read online.
This change signifies an exciting step forward for the journal, moving in line with other international journals.
Interim editor Professor Charles Guest told Medical Journal of Australia News Editor Cate Swannell: “The one page research summary is an idea that comes from other generalist medical journals. It’s part of the transition to online publication and it enables people to see quickly what an article is about. If they want more content they can get it online.”
Professor Guest will be editing the journal over the coming months until a new Editor-in-Chief is appointed.
In his MJA editorial, Professor Guest says he sees his role as more of an umpire of decisions at the Journal. However he urges anyone with suggestions to please email him.
