[Comment] A global perspective on dementia care: a Commission

The frequency of dementia is rising as a result of increased longevity. Despite evidence of a decrease in the age-related prevalence of dementia in some countries, there is an increase in others.1,2 As the population ages, a large and increasing number of people are living with dementia worldwide.3 In the UK, 30% of the population will die with dementia,4 and people with dementia throughout the world are more likely to die than their counterparts without dementia.3,5
