[Comment] Correct coagulopathy: quickly and effectively

A growing number of patients worldwide are therapeutically anticoagulated. Expanding indications for use, rising off-label prescribing practices, improved drug availability, and an ageing patient population add substantially to patient numbers. In the UK alone, 8% of patients older than 80 years take warfarin,1 and roughly 15% of patients older than 65 years are anticoagulated with warfarin in the USA.2 When newer, novel drugs are taken into account, the number of anticoagulated patients becomes even larger.
