[Comment] Offline: A physician’s response to religious conflict
A heatwave is gripping the Middle East. Lack of drinking water, sleep deprivation, and skin infections are becoming widely prevalent. Violence too. Kabul, Baghdad, Aleppo: scores killed during the past few weeks in ISIS-inspired terrorist incidents and ongoing conflict between Sunni and Shia. WHO’s Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean has condemned attacks on Syrian hospitals. In Aleppo, one person died when the Kafr Hamra Field Hospital was targeted this month. The Omar Ibn Abdel Aziz Hospital has been hit three times since June, injuring medical staff and damaging buildings.
