[Comment] Offline: November 13, one year on

On November 12, Sting will play at the Bataclan theatre in Paris, one day before the first anniversary of terrorist attacks that killed 130 people and left 352 injured. Perpetrated by Islamic State, it was the most deadly terrorist attack in France’s history. President François Hollande called it an “act of war”. The events that began on the evening of November 13 came after attacks in January on Charlie Hebdo, a satirical magazine. 17 people were killed in that incident. Writing in The Lancet just 11 days after the November attacks, Martin Hirsch and colleagues described the remarkable response by doctors working in the Parisian health system—the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris.
