[Correspondence] Central arteriovenous anastomosis and hypertension – Authors’ reply

We thank Jaap Deinum and Jack Wetzels for their comments. However, we believe that both of our study groups1 were well balanced in terms of starting office and ambulatory blood pressure (ABP) and the differing prevalence of coronary heart and cerebrovascular disease is unlikely to be clinically relevant in the context of observed blood pressure (BP) change at 6 months. Furthermore, differences in calcium channel blocker use suggest a chance finding secondary to drug intolerances.
