[Perspectives] Malala: agent of change
Malala Yousafzai is a teenage girl from Pakistan who blogged anonymously and spoke publicly about the need for girls to be educated. In 2012, in retaliation for this transgression, the Taliban shot her. It was a miracle she did not die. With her family’s support she recovered and, after global political and media exposure, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.
