This give-away is promoted by Australasian Medical Publishing Company (ABN 20 000 005 854) Level 19, Town Hall House, 456 Kent Street, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia. The Australasian Medical Publishing Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australian Medical Association and the publisher of Medical Journal of Australia and www.doctorportal.com.au. The give-away prize is provided by Unconventional Conventions Pty Ltd (ABN 12 065 037 149) 8/552 Oxford Street, Bondi Junction, NSW 2022. Unconventional Conventions is an independent Australian conference organiser.
The give-away and entry
Entry is open only to doctors who are registered to practise and practise in Australia, and who have participated in the give-away available at this link through doctorportal. You will need to log in or register to doctorportal to enter.
This give-away is a game of skill.
The winner will be chosen solely by the Australasian Medical Publishing Company.
Entries must reach us by no later than 5:00 pm AEST, 31 July 2017, to be considered for the prize. Entries must be made at www.doctorportal.com.au/portugal. The time of entry will be the time the website confirms acceptance of the entry and verification of your eligibility by the Medical Directory of Australia.
Australasian Medical Publishing Company reserves the right to verify a doctor’s registration and practising status with the Medical Directory of Australia.
The publisher will not enter into correspondence regarding the give-away result or any other decisions the publisher makes in connection with the give-away.
The winner will be the doctor judged as providing the most compelling answer to the question on the entry form using 50 or fewer words.
You may enter more than once, but each entry must be unique and noticeably different to a doctor’s earlier entries.
The winner will be informed by email within 14 days of the entry closing date.
The surname and state of the winner will be announced in the MJA Classifieds section in the next available issue after the closing date.
The Prize is a category 1 cabin for two people on the Unconventional Conventions Portugal and Spain Medical Conference in October 2017. The Prize includes 7 nights on board the luxury river boat Queen Isabel on the Douro River in Portugal, all meals and drinks and a 20-hour accredited medical education program. The value of this package is AUD$23,850.
The Prize excludes accommodation on land, estimated at approximately $1,500 and excludes return flights. Details of the travel package can be found at this link.
Prizes will be awarded to the doctor named in the entry.
The Prize value is based on the recommended retail prices at the time of first publication of these terms and conditions (inclusive of GST). The publisher accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate prize redemption date.
The winner must comply with the Unconventional Conventions Terms and Conditions of travel which are available at this link.
Independent financial advice should be sought as tax implications may arise as a result of accepting the prize.
Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash.
It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the publisher at its absolute discretion.
The Prize is subject to the terms and conditions imposed by the provider.
Once awarded, the publisher is not liable for any voucher that has been lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way.
Subject to complying with all relevant State and Territory legislation, the publisher reserves the right to change, cancel or suspend the give-away if an event beyond the control of the publisher corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the give-away.
The publisher and its associates assume no responsibility for any error or delay related to the give-away.
Any entrant found to be using any automated means whatsoever to submit multiple entries will be disqualified.
If the prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, the publisher is not liable to replace the prize.
The publisher does not exclude any rights and remedies in respect of goods or services under the Australian Consumer Law in the give-away and Consumer Act (2010) (Australian Consumer Law) which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. However, the remainder of this clause will apply to the fullest extent permitted by law and the publisher will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s.
All entries become the property of the publisher (with the exception of any intellectual property rights comprised therein).
